S6 Activities

The ASPIRENorth team will work with you on 5 separate occasions this year.  You will take part in the following activities:

Acing interviews & Time for a Recap
This interactive workshop will look at the skills and preparation you need to be successful in an interview. There will also be an opportunity to have a mock interview to practise what you have learned. We will also have a re-cap session where we will look back at your achievements from S5. This session will allow you to meet 1-1 with a member of the ASPIRENorth team to help you plan for the coming year.

College & University Application Clinics
For our S6 pupils who are submitting a college or UCAS application we will be on hand to guide you through this process on a 1-1 basis including that all important personal statement.

Money, money, money
You and your parents will be invited to an expert workshop on funding student life. This evening event will allow you and your parents the chance to hear from a Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS) representative and take part in workshops around budgeting and the realities of student finance. You can't afford to miss it!

How do you Study ?
Most new students feel ill prepared for study at college or university so we have designed a half day activity where you will learn more about how to study at this level and get the chance to attend a lecture, take notes and get feedback from academic staff. You will also find out about the support and guidance available to students, an invaluable preparation for the transition from school to post school study. At exam result time the ASPIRENorth team will be on hand to celebrate your success and help with any queries.
