Do what you want to do and just tell your parents that that is what you want to do. It would be silly doing something that you don't want to do as you wouldn't enjoy it. If you do get a band call it ARMY to cheer your dad up!

Rachael, Class 1M, Wick High School

I think you should stick at school until 6th year so you have more time to think about it. Parents aren't always right, so do what you want to do. Try to persuade your parents that it's your future career, not just a hobby. I am sure they will understand that it's your choice, not theirs. Get advice from teachers, guidance teachers, career advisors and job centres. I really hope you do well!

Leanne, Class 1S, Wick High School

I think your mum and dad think that you don't know enough about your ambition. Start researching on the internet and looking in books for information and show that you are serious. Your parents should eventually come round and they will be happy for you.

Anna, Class 1N, Wick High School

I think you should do whatever you want to do. At the end of the day it's your career, not theirs. You should try talking to them, tell them what you want to do and ask them to support you. Your parents should be happy for you and accept what you want to do. So I think you should keep studying music, because you will be happy doing what you want to do!
